The cell phone registration deadlines we’ve been tracking are now starting to hit. After the August 15 deadline, Mexico began suspending unregistered cell lines ending in 0. Other numbers will follow based on the last digit of the phone number.
A suspension doesn’t mean you immediately lose your number. To reactivate it, register through your carrier’s official website or at a customer service center. You can still access the registration platform from a suspended phone without credit or mobile data. Once verified, calls, texts, and mobile data will be restored.
Emergency and certain government and carrier service numbers remain available while your line is suspended. Foreign residents can register using a CURP, or if they don’t have one, provide their name, country of origin, and passport number.

- 3: September 30
- 4: October 15
- 5: October 31
- 6: November 15
- 7: November 30
- 8: December 15
- 9: December 31
If you miss your deadline, your carrier has up to 72 hours to suspend your line.
