To reiterate, nearly all Akumal Centro and Akumal Norte restaurants are open. The exception is Que Onda — and it’s likely that it’s closed permanently. All we’ll have is our memories of superior pasta dishes, lovely staff, and a pretty venue.
This foto was taken at C. Tranquilidad a bit ago. The belief is that toucans show up in numbers after a hurricane, looking for munchies. Many of the colorful birds have been spotted around Akumal Norte lately, so perhaps it’s true . . .
Devastating news about que onda. We ate there 2-3 x a week during our two month stay. First date was there 25 years ago. Just loved the staff, venue and food. 🙁
