What’s New in Akumal – April 2021

Here’s what’s new in Akumal — we know who’s on the Hekab Be Library Board!

Jennifer Smith, President;  Marti Johnston,  Kelly Maher, Redbeard, and Kathleen Allison (in CA) members.

Lots of renovations are in the works: bathroom plumbing, steps to the hand washing faucets, tile flooring being laid, decorative sidewalk paintings being renewed, a pickleball court poured — the list goes on.   Walls were falling apart and roofs leaking, so they have to dealt with.  Obviously pesos are needed — lots of pesos!, so contact the library’s Facebook page to get info on how to make a donation.  Coming in May will be a library fun-draiser — stay alert!

A playground unit was donated by an Akumal owner. The older equipment, like the swings above, was taken to the community center in Akumal Pueblo.  A new trampoline is being put in as well.

And of course the park —
