Keep Car Insurance Papers in Your Vehicle

This is just a reminder to all of us who drive our own cars here — or even if your car is a rental.

For those of us who own a car, please keep a copy of the first page of your insurance policy in the glovebox, along with the vehicle registration info. This will more than help you out with the police if you should have an accident.

If you’re driving a rental, keep your rental papers in the car with you.  The police may require them if you’re involved in an accident.

The last thing anyone wants is to be involved in an accident.  Being prepared can help when the police are called to the scene.

I personally had laminated cards made to carry in my car, phone case, and wallet.  The card has my name and address, and names of people to call if I get into an accident and cannot report it myself.  Better to be safe than — well, you know!
