WE HAVE SOME SPECIAL REQUESTS FOR ITEMS FROM OUR NEW DIRECTOR, KAORI, TO HELP WITH HEKAB BE’S EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR THE CHILDREN OF AKUMAL:

Backpacks and water bottles for summer camp
Goalie gloves for playing soccer
Play parachute for children
Educational books in Spanish aimed at Kindergarten children (dinosaurs, animals, outer space, nutrition etc.)
‘Dress-up’ costumes for make-believe play and for small theater performances
Place mats, aprons, and child-friendly silverware for cooking classes
Games that the children can play together (e.g. Jenga, memory cards)
Lego building materials
Seeds and simple (child safe!) tools for gardening classes
Fabric to re-cover chairs and couches

GENERAL SUPPLIES:

We always need supplies for our classes and general administration. If you don’t have space in your suitcase, many of these items can be purchased here in Mexico at the many grocery and office supply stores in Playa del Carmen. Items marked with a * are always needed, as they are what we use almost every day)

Notebooks with thick paper, both blank and lined (designed for young children drawing and learning to write)
All kinds of paint, but especially acrylic
White (PVA) glue (This is always desperately needed!!)
