So, the other day, it was me and Big Jake, the Protector, and the Jersey Gang of Six Luna, Maya, Blue, Reya, Paco & Cleo.
You know, we all enjoy going to la Buena Vida, and seeing Ixchel, the Fertility & Jaguar Goddess of Akumal.
Every evening, there’s a group of us Akumal dogs that walk the streets. Chiquita, with her Humans, walks and sometimes, Bambi, the gracious hostess of Casa Gatos fame, joins them.
We’d been talking about the Snow Dogs that start showing up as soon as the temps drop up North. Colorado Murphy, a friend of Back Pack Nola, spends a lot of time in the cooler months running the roads along with Canadian Leia, who takes that long 7-day car ride. BORING. Leia, came from Playa originally, but loves Canada.
There’s a new girl in town, Tansy, who hails from Philly. Don’t know if she’s connected with that Jersey gang. We’ll need to get the low- down when she hits Aku.
Now, Ikki, and his surfer dude human, have The Life. Hangin’ with surfers, paddleboarders and women on the beach. What more can a beach dog ask for? Although he does love being with B’ox (Bosh) & Otto, at Jungla. FYI, Ixchel is Otto’s mom and B’ox is Otto’s dad.
Umo, the new guy who “owns” the 2 shops at the arch, wishes he could rent out more golf carts, but he’s still new to that gig, being less than a year old. Loves riding in his Human’s white truck.
Lest we forget some of the past Akumal dogs: Crossing the Rainbow Bridge were the likes of Molly and Spartacus, Daisy and Cheyenne, along with Lacey and Alux.
Well, that’s the skinny on some of my friends in town. I hope you enjoyed meeting them. Keep an eye out for them when you’re on the road.
