Ask Allyn . . .

“Ask Allyn” came to me at our last newsletter meeting.  I have a friend who lives here full time.  Being a full time resident can have some drawbacks and Allyn is great at figuring things out.   For instance . . .

When you’re making meatloaf and you want it to be moist and tender, try adding Knox unflavored gelatin. The small orange box hold 3 packets.  It is readily available here in México.  Take one of the packets, put it into a bowl and add enough water to gel it up a bit.  Then add it to your meatloaf mix, and it’s amazing how wonderfully moist your dish will be.

The next time I “Ask Allyn”, we’ll talk about making dill pickles using Jicama.  They are yummy!
