❖ Participation with more than 100 local, regional, national and international artists creating over 100 works of art!

❖ Opening ceremonies for the Akumal Arts Festival begin at 5:00 pm Friday evening Nov. 8th.

❖ Live music and other performing arts the evenings of Friday Nov. 8th, Saturday Nov. 9th, and Sunday, Nov. 10th.

❖ Akumal Arts Festival Artwalk – 2 guided tours daily Friday, Saturday and Sunday

❖ Free parking available throughout the pueblo. Easy access by Colectivo; drop off one block from main activities.

❖ November 9 and 10, all-age workshops and participatory activities are scheduled 10:00 am – 5:00 pm to be held at the Akumal Community Center. Spray, hand and graffiti painting, coloring, stencil making, building circuit boards, filmmaking, mask-making, demonstrations and more are offered by Festival Artists.

❖ Contests

➢ Beautiful House Contest- Returning artists Ms. Yellow (California), Deity (California) and Charlie Gill (Akumal) will be connecting artists with families in the pueblo to transform their homes into works of art.

➢ Beautify Akumal Fashion Show- a fun and stylish fashion show using wearable fashion created from recycled material

➢ Chalk Art- a nightly interactive play with sidewalk chalk in the park, open to public

❖ Pre-festival

➢ Collecting, cleaning and storing reusable/recyclable/repurposed materials for art projects

➢ Akumal Children’s Art project: Beautify Akumal. Similar to Proyecta Banderas, the FlagProject. Installations made from recycled/re-purposed Akumal trash.

➢ Arriving artists give classes and lecture demonstrations in Akumal and Chemuyil schools
