There really is no need to ask restaurants for a to-go container. Styrofoam, at least, is nothing that food should be put in, nor reheated in, nor should it be thrown in a landfill. The eco-friendly to-go box sucks every bit of moisture out of the food it’s transporting. And restaurants are beginning to charge for the containers.
Solution? Grab one of the plastic ‘tupper’ containers from the cabinet and take it along on your dinner excursion. It’s free, the food inside holds up and reheats better, and it doesn’t add to our landfills.
