Hey, Everyone, meet Fred Hollinger, our new Tech Guy!
Born and raised in the frigid city of Montreal, Canada. I graduated with a Bachelor of Computer Science degree and began a long career in IT in 1973. After meeting and marrying Lydia in 1978, we continued to tough it out in the snow until 1985, when adventure called and we went to live and work in Saudi Arabia for three and a half years, Lydia at the American School and me as a Systems Programmer on IBM mainframes at the Saudi electric utility. Upon our return to Canada I worked for ten years as a Systems Engineer and Consultant for Amdahl Corporation of Sunnyvale, CA, doing IT projects all over Canada and the US. I left Amdahl in 1998 to pursue a successful career as a freelance Consultant. During all this time I had a burning desire to do the ex-pat thing again, and in 2004 we purchased some land in the jungle, made the full-time move less than 2 years later, and lived in Akumal and Puerto Aventuras while going through the building process (not for the faint of heart). I am now doing technical support (networks, routers, Windows) and website development for individuals and small businesses.
