New Restaurant Open at YalKu Laguna

La Cueva del Pescador, that venerable restaurant that pleases so many travelers and locals in “downtown” Akumal, has opened a new location in YalKu Laguna called Palapa de Yal Ku.  The setting is delightful with comfortable tables with umbrellas and glimpses of the crystal waters of Yal Ku.  You can enjoy a wonderful breakfast and/or lunch from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.  Traditional breakfast items are served and the lunch menu includes ceviches, sandwiches, tacos, and – of course – seafood (shrimp, fish filet, lobster prepared to your liking).  Other menu items are hamburgers, quesadillas, fajitas, salads, chicken dishes, and more …. truly, a full menu.

Recognize these fellas? L to R: Enrique, Manager José Luis, Chef Luis, Emanuel, Pedro, and Aaron

Snorkelers abound as they make their way through the garden sculptures to enter the laguna, but “walk-ins” are also welcomed.  Tell the guard at the gate you are going to the La Palapa de YalKu Restaurant, and receive a visitor’s pass.

Some of what’s to see on the site – except for the tourists!
