#GivingTuesday is almost here!
Tuesday, November 29th is #GivingTuesday, the Global Day of Giving.
As part of our #GivingTuesday fundraising effort, our goal is to raise enough funds that day to cover 50% of our 2023 Expenses.
Historically, Hekab Be Biblioteca & Activity Center’s after-school and summer school programming provides the children of Akumal pueblo with the opportunity to learn hands-on with activities that build cooperation, learning and critical thinking skills, creativity and to be good human beings! Since 1990 the school/library has educated many children who are now local business owners or employees contributing to the modern-day viability of the Akumal community. Together we are uplifting children to be future leaders, stewards of their Maya heritage and of the unique ecosystem of Akumal. Through them, the parents are also learning, contributing and blossoming.
Your gift will help us to make this possible.
Running the year-round After School Program is the basis for all our expenses covering teachers’ salaries, transporting the children from the pueblo and back, equipment, supplies as well as utilities, building maintenance, etc. This will allow us the freedom to focus on the children without such a large expense looming over us.
