Bit & Pieces, September 2018

What’s new?

This lot is adjacent to the Bellamar property and is in the process of being cleared even further.  Rumor has it that a local builder will be putting up a condominium building.

And this is a photo of the gas station construction on the highway immediately south of Akumal Pueblo.  No one seems sure what kind of station it will be, but it’s going in just about where it was planned oh so many years ago.

Plus, a little this & that from Mexican media.

According to the Riviera Maya News on August 28, 2018, the Bank of Mexico (Banxico) unveiled the new 500-peso bill that has been put into circulation.  President Benito Juárez (1806-1872), who issued the Reform Laws with the support of radical liberals,  is pictured on the front; on the back are ecosystem images.

Banxico says the new 500 peso bill has new security features, is fluorescent on the back, is user friendly for the visually impaired and is longer and made of cotton, adding that the lower denominations will continue to be made from polymer.
