Good Morning Vecinos Members!
As you know, last year we initiated an annual dues program. The Vecinos executive board met to analyze the effectiveness of the 2019 dues program. The 2019 budget was based on 70% of owners paying; however, only 50% paid. So the proposed 2020 budget is higher to compensate for only 50% of owners paying. This increase will help us keep up with the cost for maintenance service programs and proposed new projects. The new budget will need to be approved at this year’s membership meeting. However, if you would like to donate now, the form at the end of the letter is for that purpose. This year Vecinos will concentrate on tourist programs in order to bring back old clients and gain new ones. This season so far without sargasso has brought an increase in tourist visits. It is slow; however, it is happening.
I hope those of you who have been here recently like the results of the new road project. It has eliminated flooding in front of several condo buildings and the repair of topes. We have several solar lights at the shop now for repairs, and they will be back by meeting time. At this year’s meeting we will have several reports: sewage, barrier project, fiber optic project, etc. The new CCB will open by June 1, 2020.
