As of January 2019, after five great years, the Mayan Garden Club by overwhelming vote of the members is expanding its focus. We will be the same great club but now will be renamed the Mayan Home and Garden Club. Our web site will need to stay the same at mayangarden.club. Our meeting main focus will still be gardening but now we will include many topics that the members requested.
Some of the upcoming meetings will include cooking demonstrations, learning Laughing Yoga − yes, Laughing Yoga and you can laugh at that − which is not getting down on the floor, but using our own energy to move us to a new energy level; learning about Maya and Mexican heritage, sharing pet treatments and vet recommendations, herbal treatments, and art tours in Akumal Pueblo and art in homes of members. And of course staying up to date on turtle and ocean conservation and how we can help. This will all be along with the gardening tips and tours. We are currently working on a plan to help grow an herbal and cooking garden in the Akumal Pueblo.
So, stay tuned and come try out our meetings. Visitors are always welcome. We meet at the home of members and always enjoy wine and great food. Men and women of all ages come; this is not a ladies society, but an active bunch and you will find friends of like mind.
