Hekab Be Library Bazaar!

CLEAN OUT YOUR CABINETS AND CLOSETS —                             HEKAB BE LIBRARY IS HAVING A BAZAAR!!!

Dates:  20 & 21 March

Anyone who knows Jen Smith from Turtle Bay Café and Bakery, also knows that grass does not grow under her feet.  Even as I spoke with her on Valentine’s Day, a busy night in her restaurant, she took time out to speak about the Hekab Be Library and her projects in the works with library director, Kaori.  The next morning I had an e-mail from Marti Johnston outlining what’s going on.

Everyday the Hekab Be library provides free after-school programs for local children. There is a summer program as well to enhance their education.  You can go to the library’s website to see all that’s available to the children at www.https://hekabbe.org

However, the physical library building is in dire need of repair.  If you check out the links below, you will see that over $15,000 usd is needed to complete the projects in mind to get the building up to par.  This project will be done in three phases, depending on donations received.  Other monies need to be raised to continue all the programs.  Last year when so many of the local people were out of work due to the pandemic, not only did Jen Smith provide food on a regular basis, but the library did as well.

Here are 2 links to the projects that are on the books for the Library:

As you know, the library is funded through 100% donations.  No financial support is received from any government sources, be it local, regional or federal.  With this in mind you can either donate items for the bazaar or make a cash donation with the information below.

Let’s help to make this Bazaar a great success.  I already have a bag of clothes and kitchen items ready to go and a cash donation as well.

DONATIONS:  The library will take donations for the bazaar up until March 12, 2021.  You can drop items off from 10 am – 2 pm,  Monday through Saturday.
