How delightful to see old friends and meet new ones at the Best of the Best, May 2019 event held at La Buena Vida (LBV) Restaurant the first Friday of May. The restaurant seated us again in the breezy upstairs section; and, as always, the waiters kept our libations in quick supply. We enjoyed seeing Jackie and Jim in our midst, and also happy to welcome Gabi back.
The judges (Joel, Lucy, and Mary) had an easier time of it on one front as there were no Clever Tees worn that night. But judging the Best Shirt and the Best Sandals was as elusive and difficult as always. Carly came through as a winner of the Best Sandals with a very different style, and the
Best Shirt winner, Bart, was more surprised than anyone. This was his first time to win. Hey, it’s nice that one of our strongest supporters of raffle gifts also chose to wear a great shirt!
So thanks to Turtle Bay Café and Restaurant (TBC), Lunita Restaurant, and LBV for giving Best’s winners a free drink.
Also, big thanks to LBV and TBC for the CuevaVodka and Mescal,the prizes in this month’s raffle drawing.
