In his preliminary report of voting at the Annual Meeting held 20 February 2026 , Jon Kantor, Director of Elections, wrote —
“There are many things we all want for Akumal Norte. Today’s meeting showed how much work needs to be done, but it also highlighted how much we care as a community. We need everyone’s support, whether that is volunteering, donating financially, or simply staying engaged and contributing your ideas. Let’s use the enthusiasm that came through today to motivate us to accomplish all that lies ahead and keep the momentum going.”
Two major projects ahead are residential waste water treatment and sidewalks. Another is the road in front of Casa Mayanah, which has severe drainage issues — estimate for repair is $290,000.00 mx. ¡Donations Welcome!
The following Board members were elected: Scott Brown, President; Susan Fritz, Vice President; Neil Canter, Treasurer; Ricardo Mangione and Beryl Van Lierop, Vocales. All will serve 2-year terms, save the vice president will serve one year. New members join current board directors, Ingrid Dática, George Pritchard, Mónica Estrada, and Carly Flores.

Seventeen new members were accepted into the Asociación. In addition, reports from the out-going President and current committee chairs Ingrid Dática, George Pritchard, Mónica Estrada , and Scott Brown were presented and approved. The 2025-26 budget was presented and approved. Yearly fees will increase slightly: houses will pay $15’000 mx and condos $6’500 mx. Members paying in usd won’t notice the increase because of the better exchange rate at this time. Fees may be paid on the Vecinos website.
The date for 2026 Annual Meeting was set at 19 February.
