Lombardi Family Concepts’ patriarch and leader, Alberto Lombardi, has announced his newest restaurant – Taverna Akumal. The new 3,000 square-foot restaurant will open at the end of September 2015, in Akumal.

“We are thrilled to open Taverna in Akumal,” Lombardi shares. “Our family has been traveling to Akumal for years and Taverna will become a special place where customers feel at home.” Lombardi Family Concepts headquartered in Dallas, with additional restaurants in Austin, Houston and Laguna Beach.

Chef Leo Leonetti will oversee all aspects of the kitchen. Chef Leonetti studied at Istituto Alberghiero in Italy and was previously at Hotel Viva Wyndham Azteca and El Dorado Seaside in Rivera Maya, Mexico.

Taverna Akumal’s menu will feature a variety of northern Italian dishes made with fresh, seasonal ingredients. Along with Taverna’s flagship dish, risotto, the menu will include salads, pizza, homemade pasta, fish, beef tenderloin and pork chop milanese. Daily specials will be served in addition to the menu.
