Quintana Roo on eastern time? It’s been reported that both legislative chambers of the Mexican congress have approved a change that will put Quintana Roo on permanent daylight savings time. All that’s lacking is the President’s signature and the law’s publication in the Federal Register.
There remains the question of whether the change would be in effect for the entire state or only northern tourist areas. Governor Borge of Quintana Roo has assured the southern municipalities that the time change would not affect them, though others contradict him. Another fuzzy issue is when the time change would take effect — some say January, others April.
AkumalNow will try to keep on top of this and let you know what’s up.
