Amaz’n’ faces of the 3rd Annual Akumal Triathlon
The third Annual Akumal Triathlon was held Friday, 22August. The gun went off at 5:30 pm — more or less — on the beach in front of Yool Caanal on Half Moon Bay. Due to the scarcity of bikes, frequent bike malfunctions, and all the topes and potholes, the biking portion was eliminated, making this year’s event a swim/run Biathlon. The swim was about 800 meters in Half Moon Bay, followed by a 5K run — out and back from YC to the highway. The usual suspects showed up and were joined by four Akumal Bay lifeguards.
